Course Descriptions:
Welding Core Grade 10 Length 1 semester
Learn the basics of arc welding and the use of cutting equipment. Become skilled at using a plasma cutter, oxy. /Fuel torch and a chop saw. Also learn to start an arc, run a bead, and basic welding joints.
Weld 1 Grade 10 Length 1 semester
Continue to learn more advanced arc welding positions. Learn to use an oxy/ fuel torch for welding different metals. Also learn the basics of reading blue prints and interpret different welding symbols.
Welding 2 Grade 11 Length 1 year
They will learn how to MIG weld and TIG weld on different metals including steel and aluminum. Then take what they learned to build a project from scratch.
Welding Internship Grade 12 Length 1 year
Work on job skills to prepare for employment. Work on projects for the shop and school with minimal assistance.
